Types and Characteristics of Bucket Elevator

Bucket elevators are often used for vertical transportation of powder, granular and small block materials. The lifting height is generally less than 40m, and the conveying volume is not more than 1600m3/h. It has the advantages of small cross-sectional size, compact layout, large lifting height, and good sealing performance.
There are four common bucket elevators: TD type, TH type, TB type and NE type. The main difference lies in the material and structure of the traction parts, as shown in the following table:

The hopper of bucket elevator has different structural forms, which can be divided into deep bucket type, shallow bucket type and scale bucket type (triangular bucket or trapezoidal bucket).
 
Material loading methods can be divided into digging type and inflow type. Digging type is mainly used for conveying powder, granular and small block non-abrasive or semi-abrasive bulk materials. The layout of the hopper is sparse, the distance between two adjacent hoppers is large, and the traction speed of the traction chain Higher, about 0.8~2m/s. The inflow type is mainly used for conveying large blocky and highly abrasive materials. The hoppers are densely arranged, and the distance between two adjacent hoppers is small to prevent materials from being scattered. The traction linear speed of the drag chain is low, generally less than 1m/s.
 
According to the characteristics of these common bucket elevators, the hopper type and hopper filling factor and other parameters must be selected according to the characteristics of the conveyed material (including particle size, looseness, temperature, viscosity, and abrasiveness) when selecting. Determine information such as the type of hoisting parts, the loading method of materials, etc.; Calculate and check the delivery volume according to the information of the hopper type and filling coefficient, and then calculate the shaft power according to the information such as the lifting height, and select the specification parameters of the drive device. Finally, determine the structure of the bucket elevator.
